There are a number of things that need to be done before going through an aesthetic breast surgery, and these are the following:
TIPS BEFORE UNDERGOING SURGERY
How Do I Prepare for Aesthetic Breast Surgery?
- Take care to avoid aspirin and other anti-inflammatory medications. You can get a list of these medications from your doctor.
- You need to quit smoking at least 2 weeks before the aesthetic breast surgery because this could increase the risk for complications like bleeding problems.
- Prepare cold compresses or ice packs as you would need this to reduce the post-operation swelling.
- Get a copy of the device sticker of the manufacturer of your breast implants. This will contain the size, the brand, and the lot number of the maker. As part of your own medical record, this is very useful should you meet any problems after surgery.
- Secure a copy of the protocol maintained by your doctor.
- Fill out your prescriptions of antibiotics and pain medications before going into surgery as you would need these immediately after the operation.
- Get a pill case with a time chart so that you could be guided in taking your medicines.
- Be sure to have a recovery area to come home to. This should have lots of pillows and entertainment materials.
